Our foresighting team has identified the need for a device that people can carry around with them so that they can open doors without having to touch them with their hands. This not only minimises transmission to the person, but also minimises transmission to the door itself. This project is being led by Lauren Page.
We need potential end-users to give design input. You can be a teacher, a worker in an office or a warehouse, a carer, a porter or a member of the general public. If you would like to influence the outcome of this project then please enter our online survey.
Current Status of consultation:
Following 28 surveys the word map (Fig 1) illustrates the issues that the public have identified.
Fig 1 – Word map derived from 28 surveys conducted electronically using Google Forms. The data confirms the general concern of transmission from door handles and the opening of doors.
